Jeremiah 29
For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future, and when you seek me with all your heart you will surely find me and you will be my people and I will be your God.

Behind The Art
I have selected, from chapters 29 and 30 of Jeremiah, words that speak of hope and obedience, words that speak of the Lord’s commitment and of His great affection for us.
My eldest son recently moved out of the house. When too many weeks go by with no word from him, I grow anxious. “Don’t forget to phone. We’ve got to stay in touch,” I remind him – reminding myself. We will always be father and son. I will always try to help or guide or encourage him. When we do get together, it is, of course, wonderful.
As we acknowledge and take pleasure in this human bond, the greater bond, the one we have with our Lord and Creator, becomes more real, its demands clearer, its promise brighter.
