Behind The Art - Dove
We had just gone through several weeks of particularly harsh winter weather, so Solomon’s words sounded a special note of reassurance. From a little clearing in the woods, covered with snow only two weeks before, a light breeze carried the scent of early daffodils to my studio door. The soft cooing of doves was an awakening from a long, cold silence. The sudden, startling hint of warmth in the air seemed to call my name. What beckoned, to everyone, was the promise of Resurrection. It was everywhere.
In the second chapter of Song of Solomon the Beloved Bride says, “He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.” That banner is over our heads, too, on this gentle spring evening.
