Behind The Art - Rejoice:

The Greeks were among those ancient cultures that saw the butterfly as a symbol of the resurrection of the soul. The caterpillar, a worm-like creature that creeps on the earth, is at length enveloped in a cocoon. The cocoon looks like a tiny mummy. But this condition is not death; it is transformation. And what emerges is no longer earth-bound. It is a new creation that dwells in the air, the heavens, becoming light and beautiful.
